ISMANAM 2024

The 28th International Symposium on Metastable, Amorphous, and Nanostructured Materials, ISMANAM 28 (2024), was held at the conference center of Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory (SLAB), Dongguan, China, from September 15th to 20th, 2024.  The ISMANAM 28 conference attracted 183 experts and scholars in the field of amorphous physics and materials from 15 countries and regions around the world. The event contained 7 plenary lectures, 41 invited talks, 54 oral presentations, and 12 poster displays. Renowned scholars and young talents with international recognition presented a diverse range of academic reports on topics such as the preparation, processing, structure, properties, and applications of metastable materials, as well as classic issues in glassy physics. ISMANAM 28 offered a valuable platform for the exchange of the latest developments and concepts in fundamental and applied research related to the synthesis, processing, characterization, properties, and applications of rapidly quenched metallic materials, bulk metallic glasses, and a variety of metastable materials prepared using diverse techniques. How fortunate we were to have gathered here, but all good things must come to an end. It is with great pleasure that I convey the decision of the ISMANAM steering committee: ISMANAM 29 (2025) conference will be held at the Institute of Physics SAS in Bratislava, Slovakia. We look forward to meeting again at ISMANAM 29 next year.
